Tucked away in Dorr St.’s Library Plaza, Ruby’s Kitchen has become a Toledo landmark that regularly welcomes Toledoans from all walks of life.   Most customers are recognized by name and the cozy atmosphere will remind you of your grand mother’s inviting kitchen.

Founded in 2004 by Ms. Ruby Butler, this family friendly restaurant celebrates the heritage of African American Home Style Cooking with such aromatic dishes as baked chicken, ribs, catfish, Polish sausage Po’Boys, steaming bowls of soup, oxtails, okra, sweet potatoes, black-eyed peas, liver and onions, neck bones, pigs’ feet, and peach cobbler.

Ms. Ruby and her staff enjoy preparing each meal the moment you order it with the freshest hand picked ingredients.
